It's getting to be that time of the year, when most of us begin to say, "Oh no, my body is not ready for a bathing suit". With daylight savings just around the corner, the days will be longer and there will be more time for walking, running and being outside. Time to Exercise! Not only do we need to keep our bodies in shape, our brain needs some exercise too! Mental stimulation is a must. According to the Alzheimer's Association, research has found that keeping your brain active seems to increase vitality and possibly generate new brain cells. The Alzheimer's Association recommends the following to keep your brain active and stimulated:
- Stay curious and involved — commit to lifelong learning
- Read, write, work crossword or other puzzles
- Attend lectures and plays
- Enroll in courses at your local adult education center, community college or other community group
- Play games
- Try memory exercises
So take time daily to exercise your brain. Looking good in your bathing suit is not enough - looking good in your bathing suit and knowing it - that's even better!
